Viva Mexico!

Hello Crafting friends! Ruthie here.Hope you hare having a great Monday! As you may know tomorrow Mexico will be celebrating The Independence Day and I wanted to make something related to it. I made a banner with the saying "Viva Mexico" as those are the words that the President says that night at the at The National Palace at the end of the celebration which is called "El Grito" you can learn more here Mexican Independence Day 16 de Septiembre: El Grito de Independencia.

I used the file build a banner #15896, #15897, #15899 and #15898  for the banner. Used the colors of the Flag of Mexico, green, white and red. Added some ribbon to the back part where the letters are; also, tricolor. Here down is a close-up of the banners.

Like this build a banner very much!! Es pretty easy to assemble, you won't need any ribbon or lace to get all the banner together.

Also, I made 2 bells using the Liberty Bell and Mini Flag Swag #61639 file. I added some gold sequins and the tricolor ribbon.

Hope you like it!!

Hello Crafting Ladies! Ruthie here again! Are you enjoying all the inspirational projects? hope your are because all of them are beautiful!! Well, for today´s inspirational post I bring you a beer jar that I made for my husband. I wanted to try the etching glass technique and this was the perfect time to do it because last Tuesday was our 8th Anniversary so I wanted to give him something special, something for him.

I saw this giant beer jar at the dollar store and came to my mind the perfect gift for him. I used the 'm' monogram that you can find at the Silhouette Online Store to make this project. This is my first time trying this technique and I love it, it really easy and takes so little time to make it. This didn´t came out perfect but I like the result.

Happy Father´s Day Neck Tie Banner

Good morning!1 Happy Friday!!! Ruthie here! As you may have notice I'm a fan of the banners!!! and for today's inspirational post I made this neck tie banner and I love it!!! I used the Neck Tie Banners and the Neck Ties.

For the HAPPY word I used the following files:  Neck Tie Banners: A-CNeck Tie Banners: G-INeck Tie Banners: P-RNeck Tie Banners: Y-Z and the Neck Ties for the chevron pattern.

For the FATHER'S word I used Neck Tie Banners: D-F,  Neck Tie Banners: A-C,  Neck Tie Banners: S-UNeck Tie Banners: G-INeck Tie Banners: P-R, and the Neck Ties for the chevron pattern too.

And for the DAY word I used:  Neck Tie Banners: D-FNeck Tie Banners: A-CNeck Tie Banners: Y-Z and the Neck Ties for the chevron pattern too.

Few tips:
  • The Neck Ties file was re-sized to the same size as the Neck Tie Banners in order to get the pattern on the tie because are different files.
  • I wanted to have some solid background underneath the letters and to get that I used the outline tool.

Hope you like it and have a great and fun Father's Day with the man of your life!

Happy Birthday Card

Hello Ruthie here again! Have you participated to the May Contest yet? no, well you still have plenty time to participate, but hurry up the prizes are awesome and you don't want to miss it!.. Now entering into my project..... you will say what file did you use for this very Clean and Simple card? do you like it? I do love it!! let me explain to you how I used the a2 Background file in making this card that you can find at Silhouette online store.

I cut one of the a2 backgropund files on white cardstock or any color but you can save the stencil to make another card or reuse the stencil.

Then on your mat place first the base of the card and then the stencil. Place some masking tape or washi tape at the edge of the stencil to avoid it move. Then apply the colors you want in you card, I used distress ink.

Here is the stencil; you can see that can be reuse or you can use it in another card. I just put it aside.

I added the sentiment with memento ink and added glimmer mist to give some sparkle (picture does not do justice to how beautiful it looks) and here it is!!

Hope you like it and gives you more ideas in how to use your files.  See you next time!

Happy Mother´s Day!

Hi! Ruthie here! This is my first post with an inspirational project and I was thinking in what to do; since Mother's Day is around the corner I thought in making a banner and give it to the lady (now my friend) who runs the daycare where my little Andrea goes. I'm sure it will looks beautiful there. For this banner I used the Banners - Round which comes in 5 different types, I only used one plane type; for the letters the Font Cooper Black and the for the flowers is the 3D Flat Daisy. I love how it looks! You can find all the files at Silhouette online store.

Here is a close up of the  3D Flat Daisy, beautiful!!!! and very easy to assemble!

And thinking in what to give my girlfriend along with the banner, nothing better than a gift card. I made this gift card holder using the Purse Gift Card Holder file.

Here is the  Purse Gift Card Holder open. As you can see this can be use for any occasion.

I hope you like it and gives you a lots of inspiration in making your future projects!

See you next time.
